Do you feel as if you need to focus more on self care for yourself? Do you feel as if you’re not prioritising self care as much as you should? If so, then now is the time for you to do something about it. If you don’t take care of yourself then you could struggle to take care of anyone else. If you aren’t sure whether you need to focus more on self care then read on. If any of these things below are a concern then you should consider re-evaluation.
You Keep Getting Sick
Getting sick on a regular basis is a major sign that you are not taking care of yourself as much as you should be. When you don’t take good care of yourself, your health will take a hit. It may be that you aren’t getting enough sleep or that the lack of nutrition is impacting your life. Both of these factors can lead to a compromised immune system. This can then make you far more vulnerable to infections or the flu. Now is the time for you to make that change here. One thing you can do is try and maintain proper nutritional habits, vitamin supplements can help with this as well. If you can do this then you will soon find that it easier for you to stay healthy.
Increased Moodiness
Do you feel as though you are quite moody at times? Having mood swings like one minute feeling fine then the next feeling angry? Are you finding that you have a shorter fuse than usual or that you are simply not able to keep your emotions in check?
These are major signs that you are not looking after yourself as much as you should be. They are very strong indicators that you need to focus more on your self-care needs and make them become your priority.
Physical Symptoms
Did you know that it is possible for you to experience physical symptoms if you are not taking good care of yourself? It may be that you experience heart palpitations, abdominal pain, headaches or even gastrointestinal disturbances. Fainting spells can also be attributed to poor self-care as can yellowing teeth or gum problems. If you’re experiencing symptoms such as these make sure you visit your local dentist.
Feelings of Isolation
Poor self-care can lead to you not feeling good enough in various aspects of your life. You may find it difficult to socialise. You may even feel as though you do not have a good connection with your friends or your family. Having a mindset like this can lead to you feeling detached. If you are feeling lonely and if you are avoiding others then this is a major red flag and it means something has to change.
Depression
The last major sign that you have to focus more on your self care is if you are experiencing depression. Lack of motivation, irritability and even disinterest in activities can lead to you feeling low. You may also find that you experience outbursts as well, and this is the last thing you want.
Seeing a doctor if you experience signs of depression is imperative, as is talking about your feelings with a friend or family member.
