Like many people, I grew up hearing different stories, rumours and controversies surrounding his life. There were times when I felt uncertain about him because the media painted such complicated and often negative pictures. However, despite those doubts, one thing never changed; I always loved his music. No matter what was being said about him publicly, his songs still had a way of connecting with me emotionally. His music felt timeless, powerful and full of heart. This is something I could never ignore.

For decades, the world has known Michael Jackson as the “King of Pop,” a once-in-a-generation genius whose music changed the world forever. His songs, dancing, creativity and performances became part of global culture. From Thriller to Billie Jean, from the moonwalk to his unforgettable stage presence, Michael created magic that no one else could replicate. But despite all his success, there was always a sadness surrounding him — a loneliness that seemed impossible to ignore. This film finally helped me understand that pain on a much deeper level.

One of the most powerful things about Michael is how human it makes him feel. So often, celebrities become larger than life, almost untouchable, but this film strips away the image and shows the person underneath. It reminded me that Michael Jackson wasn’t born into a normal childhood. He was pushed into fame at such a young age and lived under pressure that most people could never imagine. While millions admired him, he was also constantly judged, criticised and misunderstood by many.

Watching the film made me feel genuine sympathy for everything he endured. The emotional struggles, the public scrutiny, the isolation, it was heartbreaking at times. It’s easy for people to forget that behind the fame was a man who experienced pain just like anyone else. In many ways, the film showed how fame can become a prison. Michael gave the world joy through his music, yet he often seemed unable to find peace for himself.

What affected me the most was seeing how sensitive and creative he truly was. The film captures his passion for music beautifully. It shows that he wasn’t just talented; he was a perfectionist, an innovator and someone completely dedicated to his art. Every note, every dance move, every performance came from a place of passion and imagination. You realise very quickly that Michael wasn’t simply making songs; he was creating experiences that connected people across the world.

That is why I believe he was a true genius. Very few artists can influence generations the way Michael Jackson did. Even today, years after his passing, his music still feels alive. New generations continue discovering him, learning his dances and connecting with his message of love, unity and compassion. His influence is everywhere in modern music and entertainment. Watching the film reminded me just how enormous his impact really was.

Another reason the film meant so much to me is because it feels like it is finally telling his side of the story. For years, there has been so much speculation, controversy and negativity surrounding Michael Jackson. Sometimes it felt as though the world forgot everything positive he gave us. Michael feels important because it fills in the gaps and gives audiences a chance to see a fuller picture of who he really was. Whether someone has been a lifelong fan or only knows the headlines, the film encourages people to look deeper and think more carefully before judging.

I also appreciated how emotional the film was without losing sight of Michael’s brilliance. There are moments of sadness, but there are also moments of pure inspiration. Seeing the recreation of his performances on the big screen reminded me why people fell in love with him in the first place. His energy was electric. His talent was unmatched. Even now, no one commands attention quite the way Michael Jackson did.

The music in the film made everything even more powerful. Hearing those iconic songs in the cinema brought back memories and emotions I didn’t expect to feel so strongly. It reminded me how much comfort and happiness his music brought to myself as well as millions of people around the world. Michael had a unique ability to make listeners feel understood, inspired and united. That kind of connection is rare, and it is part of what made him legendary.

By the end of the film, I honestly felt emotional because it made me reflect on how difficult Michael’s life truly was despite all his achievements. It made me wish that he could have experienced more kindness and understanding while he was alive. No one is perfect, but the film helped me see how much he carried emotionally throughout his life. Instead of only seeing the superstar, I saw a vulnerable human being trying to cope with extraordinary circumstances.

I’m genuinely glad this film was made because it gives people the opportunity to reconnect with Michael Jackson in a meaningful way. It celebrates his artistry while also showing his humanity. For fans like me, it feels emotional and personal. It fills in gaps, answers questions, and reminds the world why Michael Jackson mattered so much and not just as an entertainer, but as a person.

After watching Michael, I can honestly say I love it so much that I hope to see it again. Very few films leave such a strong emotional impact on me, but this one truly did. It made me laugh, reflect, feel sadness and appreciate Michael Jackson more than ever before. It reminded me that legends are still human beings and sometimes the people who bring the most joy to the world are carrying the deepest pain themselves.

In the end, Michael is more than just a biographical film. It is a tribute to an extraordinary artist whose talent changed music forever. It is also a reminder of the importance of empathy, understanding and compassion. Michael Jackson was a genius, an icon and a legend whose legacy will live forever. This film helped me see him not only as the King of Pop, but as a human being who deserved love, respect, and understanding just like everyone else.

Watching Michael was one of the most emotional cinema experiences I’ve had in a long time.
