Having the time to read is such an important thing for me, it really does help set the tone and make me more relaxed. However, with this book (as many of Adele Parks books) I was gripped and struggled to put this down every single time I read it. This is the quickest I’ve read a book for a long time, which to me is a good sign.

Amazon:

Lost. Missing. Murdered?

And both her husbands are suspects…

The entire nation is obsessed with the scandal of bigamist Kylie Gillingham’s disappearance. Being married to two different men was a huge risk. But did she run away or was she taken?

And is she dead or alive?

Both her husbands insist she was their everything, until she vanished. But DC Clements knows love is a shiver away from hate and either can make people do the cruelest things.

Only one person knew her secret. Did they want her to pay the ultimate price?

My Review:

My first thoughts when I commenced reading this book was ‘how the hell am I going to keep up with all the characters’, but each one had their quirks and I had my favourites but I’ll leave it at that and let you make up your own mind.

The story begins in lockdown, which is something we will never forget but reading this opened my eyes (again) to how different lockdown was to everyone. I know it’s a story, but I could picture the scenery down at Lyme Regis in Dorset and what a lovely area to base this.

I almost felt like Kylie was trapped, and even though what she did was wrong the story made me feel sorry for her. She’d been through so much. Every character showed their individuality and were written very articulately and I loved DC Clements, it’s women like that that makes me proud to be a woman.

There was always a chance in my mind that she could be dead, or alive because that’s how good the book was. Adele always writes a good story and I love at the end how she credits those who supported her, including her sister and mother who gave her the inspiration on how to finish this storyline.

I’m not going to give any spoilers, however having said that I would recommend reading Both of You before reading this. Although it doesn’t matter which order you proceed, personally I would’ve liked to have read the other one first.

This is a serious page turner, if you’re wanting something to escape in, this for sure will have you in a world between London and Lyme Regis where you will never look at marriages in the same way again.
