Life has been somewhat hectic lately with one thing and another. However I am back to give you another book review this time for Another Cup of Coffee by Jenny Kane.
Sypnosis
Thirteen years ago Amy Crane ran away from everyone and everything she knew, ending up in an unfamiliar city with no obvious past and no idea of her future. Now, though, that past has just arrived on her doorstep, in the shape of an old music cassette that Amy hasn’t seen since she was at university.
Digging out her long-neglected Walkman, Amy listens to the lyrics that soundtracked her student days. As long-buried memories are wrenched from the places in her mind where she’s kept them safely locked away for over a decade, Amy is suddenly tired of hiding.
It’s time to confront everything about her life. Time to find all the friends she left behind in England, when her heart got broken and the life she was building for herself got completely shattered. Time to make sense of all the feelings she’s been bottling up for all this time. And most of all, it’s time to discover why Jack has sent her tape back to her now, after all these years.
With her mantra, New life, New job, New home, playing on a continuous loop in her head, Amy gears herself up with yet another a bucked-sized cup of coffee, as she goes forth to lay the ghost of first love to rest.

A Book Review
When I first started to read this I thought to myself what a nice light hearted story. A story of a group of friends with their other halves and family’s. Spending time with their friends when they’re not working living their day to day life. Or perhaps not?
I love the way this story took me one route where I thought I was going. The next I actually realised this is not where it’s going! Then before I get a chance to try and predict where it goes I get it wrong. This is definately an unpredictable, fun, happy and lovely story.
Amy Crane is a delightful and caring character who loves her friends. Unfortunately because of Jack (selfish, mean but oh so lovely and irresistible) she threw that all away. She moves to Scotland to get away from him. She thinks she did the right thing maybe she did or maybe she didn’t.
I loved how each of the characters in this book have their own story. Sometimes when I read a book I feel that one character gets all the attention because the story line revolves around them. This story gives the variety of lives between all the characters and their connections within the circle of friends.
Kit was my favourite character of the book. She had an unusual talent for writing erotica but at the end of the day it’s porn right? Also because no matter what her personal feelings are she always gives good advice. It’s always the sort of advice you actually need rather than being bias or telling someone what they want to hear. It must’ve been hard to be second best but she dealt with it in the best possible way.
I would recommend this book if you want something to relax to. Chic lit readers could easily enjoy this as well as if you like a bit of comedy and drama all rolled into one. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did writing the book review another cup of coffee by Jenny Kane.
